Portfolio
Living Water College will pursue accreditation to confer a Bachelor of Arts Degree if it is in the best interest of the program and ultimately the students. Degrees have a certain merit. They allow a quick, though limited, judgment about qualifications. In the Arts, a portfolio will provide a powerful advantage. What kind of portfolio will students obtain? Students will choose to specialize in Film-making, Drama, Visual Art, or Writing. Through the course of three years, they will have ample opportunity to explore their chosen craft and produce artistic works. Samples of their works will fill a portion of their portfolio. Students will have opportunities to work with resident and visiting staff who themselves are professional artists, and a portion of the students' time will be spent assisting a professional off campus. Evidence of the off-campus artistic projects assisted by students will fill a portion of their portfolio, as will references by the professionals who have helped tutor and mentor them. What is the purpose of this education? It cannot be stressed enough that the purpose of this education is not to get a degree, nor a portfolio, nor even to get a job. The ability to think critically and deeply cannot be measured by a salary. It is priceless. Further, the original aspiration of the artist is not to “make it in the industry”, but to depict what is true and what is beautiful. The graduates of Living Water College of the Arts will be able to "make it" to "get a job" precisely because they won't have placed these goals first. Because they have embarked on an education for the sake of giving glory to God in their faith, their thoughts and their works, they will make an impact on the world and be a success.

tudents of Living Water College of the Arts will develop a portfolio during their three years at the college. A portfolio provides concrete evidence of the Artistic accomplishments of the graduate, providing prospective employers or institutions with tangible insight into the graduate's skills and creativity.
